You know the assignments you create that you want to save for later in the school year? Now you can actually keep them all in one place. My Collection lets you save any Teacher-Ready Assignment or assignment you create right from the Teacher-Ready Assignments table, so your go-to favorites are always one click away.

Meet Tia: A Faster Start to Scoring

Here’s the moment that changes your Sunday nights. A student submits a Teacher-Ready Assignment, and Tia (that’s Teacher Intelligence Assistant, if you’re wondering) gives you a recommended score almost instantly. Not a final grade. Not a decision made without you. A running start.

Let’s talk about the AI part directly (because we know that word gets a reaction). Flashlight360 didn’t build Tia to grade for you. We built you a scoring assistant. Every score Tia suggests is exactly that: a suggestion, and you’re the one who reviews it, adjusts it, and makes the call. Nothing is final until you say so.

Practice Assignments: Low Stakes, Zero Clutter

Not everything needs to be graded, and now it doesn’t have to be. Flag any assignment as Practice when creating your assignment, and it skips your grading queue completely. Students still get the reps. You get your queue back.

Something New for Reading and Listening

Students already log on to Flashlight360 to practice Speaking and Writing, and this year they’ll have new ways to show what they can do with Reading and Listening, too. We’re rolling this out thoughtfully over the course of the year, so consider this your heads up: there’s more to look forward to on Flashlight360 this year, and we’ll share additional details as new features become available.

Accessibility Updates Built In for Every Learner

Flashlight360 got a little easier to use for every student and teacher who logs in. We’ve made real upgrades to screen reader support, navigation, and visual clarity across the platform. Improved and refreshed Sparks lessons, revamped ELD Assessment Pathways, and expanded Instructional Supports— these are some of the exciting updates packed into The Teacher Toolbox this back-to-school season. Be on the lookout for the Teacher-Ready Assignment button, so you can launch straight into the Flashlight360 assignment. Just choose your class/group to assign to and the assignment date range. Our goal remains the same: providing practical resources teachers can use right away.

Teacher-Ready Assignments aren’t one-size-fits-all. For districts with a custom Scope and Sequence, assignments are built to align directly with your district’s curriculum, so what you’re assigning actually matches the order and pacing your district has mapped out. More Directive Prompts for Stronger Student Responses

We’ve updated the student Speaking and Writing Benchmark experience to include more engaging and directive prompts aligned to each grade band. These prompts help students move beyond naming what they see by encouraging richer language, including description, sequencing, inference, explanation, and narrative development. The result is a clearer Benchmark experience that gives students stronger opportunities to demonstrate their speaking and writing skills.

Texas Districts: Your Scoring Just Changed
