¡Hola! My name is Milena and I’m a children’s book illustrator from Bogotá, Colombia. I’ve been creating digital art and traditional watercolor for seven years. One of the reasons I enjoy what I do is because through art, I can help people see the world from other perspectives. I love learning languages, exercising, and taking walks in nature. My favorite foods are recipes with fruit, especially lulo fruit (which is native to Colombia), oranges, and yellow passion fruit. I have five dogs and four cats (Lulu, Huella, Moca, Maiki, Candy, Fiby, Mia, Lupe, and Juanita).

This cheerful piece depicts the illustrator’s hometown of Chía, Colombia, which is known as a biker’s city. A family of four bikes through the rolling hills of the city, past shops, trees, and houses, with other bikers climbing hills in the background. Macaws and other South American birds fly through the bright blue skies.
